Winter Preparations

The Canadian winter is notoriously harsh on vehicle exteriors. Snow residue, abrasive road salt, sand, and brine solutions create a highly corrosive environment.

Care approach: Emphasize regular touchless washes when temperatures allow to rinse away heavy salt accumulation from lower panels and wheel arches. Ensuring a durable synthetic sealant or coating is applied prior to the first snowfall can help maintain a barrier between the clear coat and winter road chemicals. Inside, transitioning to deep-dish rubber mats helps contain meltwater.

Spring Decontamination

As the snow recedes, vehicles are often left covered in a stubborn film of grime, meltwater spotting, pollen, and accumulated road debris.

Care approach: Spring is the ideal time for a thorough decontamination wash. This involves chemical treatments to dissolve embedded iron fallout (from snowplows and brakes) and tar spots. Cleaning interior carpets to extract winter salt stains is also highly recommended during this transition period to prevent long-term fabric stiffening.

Summer Maintenance

Summer driving introduces high UV exposure, elevated temperatures, insect impacts, and significant travel dust from road trips.

Care approach: Frequent, safe washing routines help manage dust build-up. Promptly removing bug splatter and bird droppings is crucial, as high surface temperatures can cause these highly acidic substances to etch into the clear coat rapidly. Regular application of a UV-resistant quick detailer may improve appearance between washes.

Autumn Preparation

Autumn brings increased rainfall, ambient moisture, and falling leaves, creating unique challenges for vehicle drainage systems.

Care approach: Focus shifts to clearing water channels. Ensuring that scuttle panels (beneath the windshield wipers), sunroof drains, and door seals are free of organic debris prevents water ingress into the cabin. Applying a fresh layer of protection on the paint and glass can improve visibility and water shedding during heavy autumn rains.

We provide no fixed durability claims for any seasonal protection, as recommendations vary based on usage and local weather severity.
