Comprehensive Surface Assessment
True detailing begins long before a machine polisher is utilized. The initial inspection phase involves assessing the clear coat thickness, identifying existing defects (such as wash marring, etching, or localized scratches), and determining a sensible course of action based on the vehicle's history and the owner's expectations.
Pre-Wash & Contact Wash
The vehicle undergoes a systematic multi-stage wash to safely remove superficial dirt and traffic film, ensuring the underlying paint is fully exposed for closer inspection.
Contamination Removal
Surfaces are treated chemically and mechanically to remove embedded contaminants. This includes applying iron fallout removers to dissolve brake dust on the paintwork, tar removers for lower panels, and the use of automotive clay to shear away remaining microscopic debris.
Paint Assessment
Once decontaminated and safely dried, the paintwork is inspected under dedicated lighting. This highlights swirl marks, holograms, and deeper scratches that obscure the clarity of the clear coat.
Polishing Considerations
Depending on the vehicle condition, single or multi-stage machine polishing may be recommended. Polishing gently levels the microscopic top layer of the clear coat to reduce light refraction, which may improve appearance and gloss. Outcomes vary, and deep scratches that have penetrated beyond the clear coat cannot be safely leveled.
Protection Options
Following any refinement work, the naked paint must be protected. We offer guidance on selecting appropriate waxes, synthetic sealants, or ceramic coatings. Protection acts as a sacrificial barrier against the elements.
Aftercare Guidance
A detailing session is an investment. We provide ongoing advice regarding correct wash routines to help maintain the results of the detailing process over time.
Setting Expectations
